Onderhoudswerkzaamheden zoals slijpen, lassen en snijden vonden plaats in diverse besloten ruimten en de voorste machinekamer, waardoor permanente brandwachtbezetting verplicht werd gesteld vanuit de rederij.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rol en verantwoordelijkheden<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De aanwezige brandwacht was verantwoordelijk voor de continue monitoring van alle werkplekken, het direct ingrijpen bij brand- of rookontwikkeling en het waarborgen van de veiligheidsprocedures met betrekking tot het werken aan boord van het schip als daar buiten.
